Pigeon, clam and... wham!

The first movie for today was

Valiant by G. Chapman III (2005)
which is very likely the reason why Mr. Chapman didn't direct any other movie after, so as he did not before this. With all the possible stereotypes of the war movie

the awkward, naive rookie
and his worried mama
the rough veterans
the nazi falcon... That is, villain, with phony accent
and even the seductive nurse

but no audience old enough to appreciate them; even though the plot should be childish, weak and predictable enough to disappoint kids and adults alike. Actors like Ewan McGregor, Tim Curry, Hugh Laurie, John Hurt and John Cleese couldn't have done better in dubbing the birds -a process which took two years- and yet they should have had real dialogues in a real story to make the whole thing work. I've never heard of this title before spotting it in some Disney animations list on the web, and now I just know why.
In the soundtrack we also find the music from the Katanga Canyon at the Alton Towers.
Need I say more? ...Katanga!

The second one was way better;

 with the metropolitan parents Cary Grant and Myrna Loy cramped in N.Y.C., dreaming the country house

that will become this

I mean, this

a perfect nest, if they just survive the process of building it.
With the greatest Cary Grant, our last mid-Atlantic hero, here looking at the bills:

and here's "daydreaming" of the comfort of his own place while working at night

Simply irresistible

as usual

With Mr.Tito Vuolo from Gragnano as Mr. Zucca, who says

"Sangue de 'na patata!"

 and Lex "Tarzan" Barker as the carpenter foreman

The "Blanding Dream House" is still there;

even if the address isn't New Milford, CT, but Malibu Creek State Park, CA.
Dream house, dream English; no subtitles required. In my dream world everybody must speak Mid-Atlantic.
I was able to recognize here the slang term "clams" in place of "dollars"; which finally (!) reveals me the pun in the B.C. comic strips:

P.S.: of course, the "wham" thing...

here (warning: spoiler)
